4.3.2 PTR Patch Notes

  So the patch notes are up, and everyone's talking about them. I'll give you my take: 

  • Aspect of the Hawk now grants roughly 35% more attack power.
   This is just the boost we needed to remain competitive. The issue prompting this has been discussed ad nauseam. 'Nuff said.
  • Deterrence now also reduces damage taken by 30% while active.
 The way it's worded, Deterrence should already reduce direct damage taken by 100%. It is well known, however, that many boss abilities and a few player abilities bypass Deterrence. I see this change as a quick fix. It isn't that great, but I'll take it. MoP is already promising to address our survivability issues nicely.
  • Black Arrow now ticks every 2 seconds for 20 seconds, as opposed to every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. The total damage dealt by the ability is unchanged.
 Changing the tick amount and rate to match Explosive Trap is exactly the change we needed to keep SV's 31 point talent competitive. It's in the nature of this game to occasionally have optimal strategies run counter to design intent. It's nice to have respected players like Zehera providing feedback, and have that feedback heard.
  • Lock and Load no longer benefits Arcane Shot, nor is it consumed by Arcane Shot.
  About damn time. 'Nuff said.
  •  Vengeance is no longer triggered by receiving damage from other players.
  Also about damn time. Damn DK's.
